Marina Abramovic will be making her first major movie appearance in three years with the release of her first feature film, the film has been confirmed.
The film, titled Maria, will be released on December 20.
The movie follows the story of a young Russian woman named Maria, who is forced to flee her homeland due to her own struggles with depression.
She is reunited with her husband, a Ukrainian soldier named Yevgeny, in the American city of New York City.
Maria, directed by Anna Kournikova and written by Anna Novikova, was produced by Arkady Bogdanovich, who also produced the 2014 film The Great Beauty, which is being produced by Michael Mann.
Abramovic has been nominated for five Oscars, but she was not nominated for Best Actress for The Great Beauties.
Abramovic won Best Actress in 2014 for her role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
The actress is nominated again for her portrayal of Maria in the 2018 film, Maria, which opens December 20 and stars Rosanna Arquette, Emma Stone, and Julianne Moore.
